Solution :

Given, in + in + 1 + in+ 2 + in + 3

= in(1 + i + i2 + i3)

= in(1 + i - 1 - i)

= in(0)

= 0

So, option (1) is correct.

Problem 2 :

The value of 13n = 1in + in - 1 is

(1)  1 + i    (2)  i   (3)  1   (4)   0

Solution :

Given, 13n = 1in + in - 1 = 13n = 1in + 13n = 1in - 1

= (i + i2 + i3 + ... + i13) + (i0 + i + i2 + i3 + ... + i12)

= i0  + 2(i + i2 + i3 + ... + i12) + i13

= 1 + 2(0) + i

= i + 1

So, option (1) is correct.

Problem 3 :

The area of the triangle formed by the complex numbers z, iz, and z + iz in the Argand’s diagram is

Solution :

Area of the triangle = 1/2 × bh

= 1/2 × |z| × |iz|

= 1/2 × |z|2

So, option (1) is correct.

Problem 4 :

The conjugate of a complex numbers is 1/(I - 2). Then, the complex number is

(1) 1i + 2
(3) -1i - 2
(2) -1i + 2
(4) 1i - 2

Solution :

z = 1i - 2z = 1i - 2z = 1-i - 2z = -1i + 2

So, option (2) is correct.

Problem 5 :

If z = 3 + i3(3i + 4)2(8 + 6i)2, then |z| is equal to

Solution :

Given, z = 3 + i3(3i + 4)2(8 + 6i)2|z| = 3 + i3(3i + 4)2(8 + 6i)2|z| = |3 + i|3|3i + 4|2|8 + 6i|2= 3 + 1332 + 42282 + 622= 432521002= 23 × 25100 = = 8 × 25100= 84= 2

So, option (3) is correct.
