EVALUATE OF COMPOSITON OF INVERSE TRIGONOMETRIC FUNCTIONS

The domain and range of a relation are the sets of all the x-coordinates and all the y-coordinates of ordered pairs respectively

Evaluate the following :

Problem 1 :

Solution :

For what angle measure of cosine, we get -1/2. Range of cos-1 function is [0, π]

Using ASTC formula, in 2nd quadrant and in 3rd quadrant, we have negative sign for cosine.

So, the required angle = π - (π/3)

= 2π/3
