DIVIDING ALGEBRAIC FRACTIONS

To divide two algebraic fractions, we have to follow the steps given below.

Step 1 :

When two fractions are expressed in the numerator and denominator. Keep the first fraction as it is. Change the division sign as multiplication sign and write the reciprocal of the denominator fraction as its reciprocal.

Step 2 :

If it is possible to use algebraic identities or using the method of factoring decompose the algebraic expressions as much as possible.

Step 3 :

Cancel the possible factors or terms.
